IDB approved a U.S. $ 2,5 billion for the operational plan for 2009

The Board of Executive Directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) approved a $ 2.47 billion for its operational plan for 2009 to finance various development projects. Approval was made at a meeting held at the headquarters of the bank here, under the chairmanship of its President, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali. The approved plan includes the operations of $ 2.09 billion in funding for regular and $ 381 million to be allocated to programs and projects in member countries. In addition, $ 357 million in credits will be allocated in accordance with the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development to reduce poverty. Some operations, covering 153 projects in 56, and 87 technical assistance programs have been approved by the Board, totaling $ 2.13 billion. 2009 plan to increase to 15 percent in the previous year's plan.
The Council also approved $ 277 million for development projects and technical assistance to member countries, as well as grants from the Endowment Fund for the Islamic community, non-OECD countries. Detailed information on the financing of the project are as follows: $ 153.6 million contribution to the sale of rail track project, Turkey, $ 52.65 million Istisna'a funding for the reconstruction of the irrigation network and draignage Djizzakh and Syrdarya region, the Republic of Uzbekistan, $ 37.3 million . Istisna'a funding for Arboutachatak-Bitkine road projects, Chad, $ 16.17 million sale of Istisna'a Dangoumana Hydro-project on the development of agriculture, Burkina Faso.
Grants from the fund: $ 125,000 for the construction of training Terms Muslim Ladies Study Circle in the town of Galle, Sri Lanka, $ 115,000 for the construction of buildings for Students Hostel Jamiatul Islam Islalmia, Bhutaha City, Nepal, $ 150,000 to build a girls' dormitory in the construction of Hazrat Munam Park Talimee public school, Maharajguni, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand state, India, $ 300,000 to rebuild schools in cyclone Nargis affected areas in Myanmar.
